The pace of matches picks up with the introduction of “Multi-Shift.”
The curtain rose on the “Tales of Ash,” the long-awaited new chapter in KOF’s story.

KOF 2003 introduced the “Tactical Leader System,” through which players set a leader character who gets a power buff among members of their team, as well as “Multi-Shift,” which lets players freely swap out team members during 3-on-3 matches. This arbitrary character-swapping added a speed to the game. Plus, this entry marked the start of a new chapter in the KOF story following the Orochi Saga and NESTS Chronicles with the debut of “Ash,” a new main character.
